The general perception is that online survey websites are scams. While this is sometimes true, there are many that are legitimate where you can earn a nice side income. Businesses have turned to the Internet to do much of their advertising and some of this budget goes toward surveys and product trials. Survey sites are the recipients of that advertising money and they pass some of it along to you, the consumer.

Before you get too excited, let it be known that you will not be able to get rich or even make a full time income from surveys. It is though, a good way for any beginner to pick up some much need extra cash each month. Any of the sites that are free to join are probably legitimate and if a site asks you to pay, you should run the other way.

While we know that many of them are legit, it is hard to know if they all are. If you are going to spend time on any of them, I suggest you only spend enough time to get to the minimum payout level. Then you wait for your check to see if you really get paid. If you do, then you know the site is legit and you can keep on doing surveys or offers. If you don’t get paid, then you know not to waste any more time with that site.

Besides doing the surveys and offers themselves, many of the survey sites will reward you for bringing in referrals. Thinking up creative ways to get people to sign up under you can be a challenge but one that can pay off nicely. Some have turned to YouTube videos to promote their referral links and there are other interesting things people have done to get referrals. By far the best way though is to start a blog.

One of the best ways to get referrals to any survey site is by making a blog. If you spend the time to learn how to get traffic to your blog and then effectively sell the survey site, you can get quite a large number of referrals and make a nice extra income. It takes a lot of time and patience to do it right but once you do figure things out, you will be rewarded for your efforts.
